Any product made of stainless steel gets a little dirty after a while. Although made of stainless steel, it isn’t immune to fingerprints and other gunk, especially after using it with massage oils and gels. Here are two quick tips for cleaning your IASTM tools.

3M Surface Disinfectant Cleaner Wipes

A must-have cleaning supply for clinics, disinfectant wipes are convenient, hassle-free and easy to use.

  1. Wipe off oil and grime built up with a tissue or paper towel before using a disinfectant wipe. This is to help you save disinfectant wipes.
  2. Wear gloves before any skin contact with the disinfectant wipes. Avoiding this step can lead to skin irritation.
  3. Pull a disinfectant wipe from the container. Unlike other disinfectant wipes, 3M’s Surface Disinfectant Cleaner Wipes are made specifically for clinical supplies, medical equipment and clinic surfaces. These wipes are ideal for cleaning plastic, stainless steel, painted surfaces and glass materials.
  4. Wipe the tool down with the disinfectant wipe, making sure the whole surface has been passed over.
  5. Wipe the IASTM tool, using a clean microfiber cloth or cotton towelettes to remove excess product and prevent visible streaking. For aesthetic purposes, finishing the tool off with a soft material helps remove visible streaking, leaving your tool looking brand new.

Isopropyl Alcohol 70% Solution

This solution is great for disinfecting and sterilizing your IASTM tools. Isopropyl alcohol solution dries fast and eliminates bacteria.

  1. Wipe off oil and grime built up with a tissue or paper towel.
  2. Wear gloves before any skin contact with the isopropyl alcohol solution. Avoiding this step can lead to skin irritation and serious eye irritation.
  3. Grabbing a fresh paper towel or cloth, soak it thoroughly with Isopropyl Alcohol 70% Solution.
  4. Wipe the IASTM tool with the paper towel or cloth, making sure the whole surface has been passed over.
  5. Wipe the IASTM tool, using a clean microfiber cloth or cotton towelettes to remove excess liquid and prevent visible streaking. Similar to using the disinfectant wipes, cleaning off the visible streaks helps make your tool look brand new, however it is optional and won’t affect its performance.
